Finally! The first two pieces finished!

Took a while, but after a lot of practice in the first months, making the sculpt this spring, finally making the mould in August etc. The first fully painted Gogo bird is reality!

Because the Dutch discovered the Dodo, I thought it would be nice to paint one or two of them in the style of a Dutch painter. I choose Herman Brood and Piet Mondriaan.

Homo Sapiens relaxus x shopping trolley

At the moment, when I'm not busy with painting, I'm sculpting a Homo sapiens shopping trolley. Symbol for the mindless shopping mentality of the modern human being. People are brainwashed by marketing and believe company's want to sell good products without negative side effects. While in reality they only focus on sales and shareholders value.

First paint style GoGo

So I have got five GoGo birds to paint. I have already thought about the way to paint them. Three or four are getting a Dutch paint style. I am planning to paint two or three of those in the style of a Dutch painter. The first one will be Mondriaan. The second will probably be Herman Brood. Probably, because I am still not sure in which way it would make sense. Maybe I'll also do a Karel Appel version.

Raphus cucullatus x Geococcyx californianus

A lot of you already know I made a bird inspired by the extinct Dodo (Raphus cucullatus) bird . This bird was first discovered by the Dutch. It was a flightless bird and easy prey. So in order to give it a new life I made a crossover with another flightless bird: Road runner (Geococcyx californianus). With this crossover I have made the Dodo faster and less likely to get extinct again. It now has a slimmer body, longer legs, but still has the stupid face of the Dodo. The name I give it is GoGo (Dodo x Miepmiep).

I thought it would be nice that a human brought this creature back to life since humans have made it extinct. There have already been five crawling out of their eggs.... waiting to get painted.

Western

Een rechte lijn, ons tuinpad. Twee katten. De ene bij het einde van het pad en de ander aan het begin. Recht tegenover elkaar starend, klaar om pistolen te trekken .... en dan blijven ze elkaar 20 minuten lang de dood in staren. Rare beesten.
