Exit wounds heading the streets

Here are some pictures in the them 'Exit wounds'. The skulls you have seen are part of this theme, which is about showing collateral damage when consuming. I am not a vegetarian, but it is good to remember what happens to deliver you a nice package of meat. Now I have made some smaller creations to make photos of in the street where it would express the theme most. It is a bit of a weird bunch. All with their own flaws.

TeeTee bird

I decided to make these GoGo versions sooner than later and now they are reality! I finished 5 so far. It is a GoGo bird but the legs are fused to form a golf tee. The body is therefor a small golfball. I think this version is a beet more cheeky. All are painted in a Dutch ceramics paintstyle, which will look familiar.

Besides these small figures, I am also making small creatures in the style of the creatures that I made out of bones and skulls. So I am busy with some small stuff. Nice change!

Don't be afraid, I'll be back to the big stuff in two weeks!

Riot in a jam jar

I just love tiny stuff! James Cauty makes tiny stuff to get his message around. His latest exhibition is called 'Riot in a jam jar'. Check this Youtube link:

WIP various

Some pictures of work in progress. The biggest is a sculpture made out of sheep bones and two half skulls. It's quite freaky!

I am also busy with some quick creations involving rabbit skulls and rubber ducks for a street art project.

Ottmar Hörl

This summer Ottmar Hörl will exhibit in Utrecht The Netherlands. He wants to warn people not to follow others, but stay alert. Referring to the second world war. He made lots of black gnomes, change them a bit and use them as nazi symbols. See the links below:

New GoGo version?

The first serious sculpture I made, the GoGo, could be coming back. I am thinking of making a smaller version inspired on a golf birdie. Perhaps naming it TeeTee. Maybe this will also result in a normal version half the size of the original. Making it easier to mould, cast and paint.

New sheep skull: Greed

I finished a new sheep skull on the theme; greed.

I basicly painted the skull with plastic, an not so easy experiment, to create a freak who has his paws on the the eyes of this poor sheep. This technique was especially difficult because of ... gravity actually. The liquid plastic just keeps running of he surface. That wouldn't be a problem if it would have been flat, but it clearly isn't. Still interesting. I might do more of this.

Mosaic Cungo

Here are some pictures of the latest Cungo. Not painted, but covered with small pieces of plastic. I took plastic mostly from typical juice bought for children to take to school. I see these bottles regularly alongside the road. Not very healthy stuff to give to your children. Markering boys are clever. It seems that the colour of the plastic has a strong association with fruit. Resulting in pruple, orange, green end red bottles. They make it by processing fruit juice, make a concentrate out of it and make a juice out of it. Sounds a bit counterproductive and inefficient, but they probably don't put the economically interesting stuff back in to it. Or it is al to lower transportation costs, because transporting concentrates are cheaper, smaller volume, then real fruit. We all become so detached from our original food....

Some more finished work

I am currently busy with getting more exhibitions and expanding the amount of 'Trail art' sculptures, but for now two of the what more familiar work.
