Shape of things to come

After my holiday it took a while before I had something to show. I painted a new Cungo and the first Eyespresso. I am also still busy with a new sculpt. The last sculpt that will be moulded till March. From Januari I want to focus on something I have been planning half a year ago. These last sculpts are skulls and an introduction to this winter project. This winter project will be about two maybe three skulpts. These won't be cloned. One of them will be about 5 times bigger than my normal skulpts, but will have a lot of detail. This will take some time!
In the future I will introduce the story behind new skulpts in this blog. Small poems on my website will introduce it on the specific webpage on my site. Some will already have a poem when I have updated the site.

Loi krathong

I was on a holiday in Thailand where the have an annual celebration 'Loi Krathong'. They build, well most people just buy, 'boats' and float them away on a river. All for good luck. The boats aren't actually boats. I wanted to build an old Dutch ship. 95% made out of banana leaves, because that's the traditional building material. Took half a day, but you get some really surpised faces for it in return. A foreigner building it's own ship for our celebration??

I'm back!

Just got back from a trip to Thailand. Have been drawing occasionally, so I have some new ideas. Only, where is the time to make them? I still have a lot of stuff unfinished.... Oh, well just pick up the work where I stopped.

Hom Rottey

Almost finished a new sculpt. Only some sandpapering to do.

Dr. Victor Freakinstyle wanted to solve a big failure in modern human behavior. He wanted to do this by creating something which most people would concern a freak. He thought about mindless consuming and people's assumption that company's want the best for society. So the freak shouldn't have a brain. But should have a feature which will make it easier to shop and consume. Fusing a shoppingtrolley and a mouth was the most logical thing to do.

Freakinstyle, living in the Swiss Alps, doesn't have a problem with keeping fit. Every he challenges the mountains to get fresh food. During those trips it became clear that even the most lazy people were seen as cool and tough. Just because they were wearing the newest sporting clothes. Which were basicly cool because they were expensive. So the creature needed something cool added while for the rest it would be a lazy and ignorant. Which would make the lazy coolness a thing to laugh about.

So Freakinstyle went for the first time in his life to a supermarket. He didn't saw food. He saw plastic and cardboard stuff with text and pictures of food on it. Flabbergasted by this first impression, he went to a employee and asked if he could buy a trolley. The employee fought he was a freak. Well, actually he is, but sometimes a freak is neccesary to show the freaks there lazy freakyness. So, he nicked one and got home. No to pimp the trolley. A modern human would 'out source' this pimping 'activity' to a company whose 'core business' is pimping. But not the doctor. He did it himself.

Getting the mouth and having it in the right size was simple. Victor always has some spare human parts in his freezer*. He only had to grow it a bit to get it bigger to fit the trolley. A few years ago he managed to connect a computer to a pumpkin plant. With this device he now can inflate every living thing just by connecting it to the pumkin plant. The computer can regulate cell membrane tention while filling the cells with water.

With some welding, rope and special glue, he fused all the parts. The whole thing he now lifted in his old trusty electrifying bath, 2.000 volt on it and; It's alive!

*If you leave your body, after your death, to science, it will go to the Swiss Alps somewhere.

Adjustments

I am busy finishing some sculpts and adjusting my site to put them on the web (www.imsobo.com). I still have to make photos of them to put on the site. Hopefully this weekend. And I fixed the problem with not being able to leave comments on this blog. It should be fixed now.

Robit: Oryctolagus cuniculus x R2d2

The latest finished crossover. Some have already seen it on Facebook. After having seen hundreds of stupid rabits flat on the road in a cartoonesque style, I thought I should do something with that. The rabits seem to be just too stupid to avoid being hit by cars. Despite their running speed. On the other hand, a simple robot can avoid them just to be at it's wits. So giving the rabit some common sense I made a combination of a rabit and the famous R2d2 robot of Star wars. The rabit is now slower but wiser. The head and eyes have the shape of the robot and gave it some robotic arms. It has no ears, they were useless anyway.

No wondering to clone it or just paint it right away...
